Cast members from an adventurous television show have been seen kayaking, fishing and oyster harvesting in a renowned Tasmanian travel destination.
Described as a socially conscious travel show, an episode for the upcoming season of Adventure All Stars has been filming in Coles Bay this week, putting the East Coast of Tasmania on the map.
The episode takes 12 “authentic” and socially conscious cast members from around Australia who have each raised money for a philanthropic cause of their choice, with an outdoors adventure offered as an unforgettable reward for their fundraising.
The group headed to Coles Bay, which borders Freycinet National Park, for activities like fishing, kayaking, oyster harvesting and winery tours.
Charity TV Global founder and CEO Troy Gray said the location had remained secret until the moment the 12 travellers arrived.
“It’s about getting these authentic cast members in front of a camera for six days of amazing adventures,” he said.
While some reality television shows draw criticism for being contrived or drama-fuelled, Mr Gray said this show followed the journey of 12 tourists descending upon a location just like everyday people.
“By following the journey of people that are very much like ourselves it elicits a response and emotional engagement from the viewers,” he said.
The second season will feature one hour-long episode set in Coles Bay, with filming for the other episodes taking place in Australia and New Zealand.
Filming is expected to wrap up on Friday, with the show set to air on the Seven Network in the second half of 2022.
