‘Smart, bubbly personality’: Little Bronson remembered

Little Bronson Bannister-Williams was excited about starting big school and had tried on his school uniform just 30 minutes before he was killed in a tragic accident outside his Launceston home.

Bronson’s mother Belinda Bannister and father Adam Williams are still struggling to come to terms with what happened on Wednesday but already family and friends are rallying around them to help in any way they can.

The four-year-old died after being hit by a garbage truck while riding his bike in Bishops Drive, Newnham.

“Of all the special gifts in life, however great or small, to have you as our son, was the greatest gift of all,” Ms Bannister said in a Facebook post.

“A special time, a special face, a special son, we can’t replace.

“With an aching heart we whisper low, we miss you Bronson and love you.

“RIP our baby boy love always and never forgotten. We will hold you in our hearts till the end.”

Bronson’s big sister Jaime Denman said her little brother was very much looking forward to starting big school.

The family has put out a public appeal to raise money to give the little boy the funeral he deserves.

Already family and friends are responding to the call as well as strangers.

“I don’t know you or your family. But I’ll donate some tomorrow. Fly high little man you were very loved,” one poster said.

“As most of you know myself and my partner and all the family had a tragic accident yesterday. We lost our little boy. He was run over by a garbage truck,” Jaime said.

“We’d love to have a beautiful send off for our little angel boy but money is a little tight.

“This situation with COVID-19 has set our family back just a little and we don't have the correct funds to give him the send off he would have wanted.

“Bronson was only four years old. We had just taken him to school to get his school clothes. He had tried them on just 30 minutes before the horrible accident took place. He was so excited to start big school with his brother and sister.

“Bronson was very smart and had a bubbly personality.”

Police are still investigating exactly what happened on Wednesday.
