A HOBART radio station has raised more than $500,000 for the 2018 Give Me 5 For Kids campaign.
The money raised by Hobart’s 107.3 Triple M will go to local children’s wards and paediatric departments.
Triple M’s Dave Noonan and Al Plath presented the donation of $526,926.58 to the Royal Hobart Hospital this morning.
Key fundraising events included a scenic flight over Tasmania in a QantasLink plane, record-breaking wheelie bin walks on the eastern and western shores of the capital and the construction of another charity house with Lyden Builders.
The funds raised will go towards purchasing paediatric equipment including new ultrasound machines for the neonatal and intensive care unit and scanners for maternity specialists across Tasmania.
Noonan said it was “just mind-blowing” that the community could raise that much money.
“It shows just how generous Hobart is when it comes to the health of our kids and making sure they have the best possible services at the Royal Hobart Hospital,” he said.
