Breaking coronavirus laws? You could be hit with these huge fines

BITUMEN carters, sewerage specialists and salmon spawners are all on the list of workers allowed to enter the state in the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic.

The state government has released the list of 217 workers who were able to gain exemptions from quarantine exemptions.

The list includes a Halal Certification Inspector, a Hyperbaric Chamber Specialist, Kitchen Ventilation Inspector and a Labelling Machinery Repairer.

The Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment released the list under Right to Information laws.

It is titled; “An aggregated list of the occupations of all recipients of exemptions and quarantine requirements approved by the State Controller on the basis that a person possesses

specialist skills critical to maintaining key industries or businesses up to 15 May 2020.

The government introduced quarrantine restrictions in mid-May for all people arriving in Tasmania with exceptions for:

“Any specialists required for industry or business continuity and maintenance of competitive operations where the appropriate skills are not available in Tasmania, where the service is time-critical and where the provision of the service requires that the person be physically present in Tasmania; and

“Any person who, in the carriage of his or her duties, is responsible, while in Tasmania, for critical maintenance or repair of infrastructure critical to Tasmania.

And “any other person, or member of a class of persons, who, in the opinion of the Secretary DPIPWE, is essential for the proper functioning of Tasmania.”
