Tasmania’s Lower House has voted on Mac Point AFL stadium development

Votes have been cast following hours of passionate debate over the future of the Mac Point AFL stadium. Here’s how it went.

Tasmania’s House of Assembly MPs have made their stance on the Macquarie Point Stadium development known after casting their vote.

Members of the House of Assembly has started its consideration of the 157-page State Policies and Projects (Macquarie Point Precinct) Order to build the stadium this afternoon.

The order declares that the multipurpose stadium at Macquarie Point is to proceed as a

project of State significance and specifies the conditions to be imposed.
