One of Australia’s most in-demand fashion designers to celebrities and WAGs has tied the knot in a lavish wedding at MONA, with a dress she designed herself turning heads.

Sydney-based designer Lïllïan Khallouf married partner Moei Elayoubi over the weekend, sharing snaps from their ‘destination wedding’ under the hashtag #MOLI.

The hashtag — a combination of the couple’s names — also appeared illuminated in large font on the museum’s floor in one photograph.

“WE ARE STILL ON OUR #MOLI HIGH,” Khallouf posted to her 76,000 Instagram followers on Thursday, continuing “we want to thank you all for your beautiful messages and well wishes … we are so lucky to have the love we have and share it with so many”.

Khallouf wore a figure-hugging strapless black and white silk gown, with ribbon detailing at the back and a long silk train.

The five-piece dress was custom made by herself, with the talented designer sharing snippets of her pre-ceremony preparations on her Instagram — pictured ironing the long train of her gown herself.

Dubbed “the deconstructed dress”, Khallouf said she designed the gown to throw aside the notion of only wearing her wedding dress once.

She also teemed the ensemble with a black silk handbag and black silk elbow-length gloves.

Her bridesmaids all sported floor-length black dresses with long white gloves; the matching flowergirls wearing red bows in their hair.

The couple’s guests were seated on transparent chairs inside MONA’s Pharos wing for the ceremony and then moved to a long table as the reception and dinner followed.
