Tasmania had two major TattsLotto winners this weekend.

A Smithton retiree was left speechless when it was revealed he had become an overnight millionaire.

His local newsagency had pulled him aside to tell him of his $3.75m prize from Saturday’s draw.

“Oh my god!” he said when an official from the Lott confirmed the winnings.

“I can’t say anything — lost for words.”

The retiree’s son was with him when the discovery was made.

“Dad is just mute. He’s lost for words,” he laughed.

“He came into the local newsagency to put on his usual tickets, and he decided to check his old ticket while he was here.

“They scanned his ticket and then they asked him to go into the private room. He immediately thought he was in trouble.

“I then received a random call from him, and he said to me, ‘I won the Lotto! Come down to the store and I’ll show you!’

“We’re all just lost for words.

“It will be a huge help for the family.”

Earlier: A Lindisfarne trio are toasting their $3.7 million TattsLotto win but there’s a chance yet for another lucky Tasmanian to join the celebrations — with an unclaimed ticket also winning big.

An unregistered entry winning $3.75m was purchased from Smithton Newsagency on Emmett St.

Store owner Paul Bramich said he couldn’t be more excited.

“We’re so pleased for our community, and we can’t imagine how life-changing it would be to win an amount like this,” he shared.

“We sold our last division one winning entry about seven or eight years ago, so this is an exciting time for us.

“We’re located in a small tight-knit community, and we just know this winning news would make a lot of people happy.

“We hope our mystery winner checks their ticket soon and comes forward to claim their prize.”

Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said the winner was likely oblivious to the fact they’ve become a newly minted millionaire.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4481 on June 29 were 30, 24, 44, 21, 45 and 10, while the supplementary numbers were 31 and 28.

Elsewhere, three Lindisfarne friends did check their ticket and scored big after their long-running private syndicate paid off.

The syndicate leader said they were “in a bit of shock”.

“The ticket is shared between the three of us. We play together every week and always get an unregistered entry,” she said.

“Gosh, there’s so much we could do with our share of the prize — holidays, new car etc.

“We all need to have a deep think about it.”

The winning entry was purchased at D’s Village News & Lotto on Lincoln Street, Lindisfarne

Its owner Danielle Newstead said they were in complete disbelief to have sold a division one winning entry.

“This is our third division one winning entry in five years, and we’re really pleased to have sold another one,” she said.

“We’ve been waiting to sell a division one winning entry since September 2022 and there’s no doubt that we’ll have another one soon now that the winning streak has started.

“We’re so glad to hear the winners are locals and that they’ve already discovered their win!”

TattsLotto wasn’t the only luck on Tassie’s side — with a Wynyard woman also scoring $100,000 on a $5 Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

“This is a very happy surprise,” the winning woman cheered when she claimed her prize from The Lott.

“When I first scratched the ticket and realised I had the right combination, I was absolutely astounded.

“I wasn’t even sure I was seeing things right.

“I had to get my sister to check over it and she said to me, ‘It looks like you have a winner, you should go into the newsagent in the morning to check’.

“I can tell you now, I didn’t get any sleep that night. None.

“You have no idea how life-changing this win is for me.
