NEWLY-released data has revealed the location of every crash on Tasmanian roads last year, with an average of 130 crashes occurring each week.
Figures from the Department of State Growth, released to the Mercury, showed there were 6859 crashes recorded in Tasmania in 2019.
Twenty-nine of those resulted in fatalities, with 32 people losing their lives on Tasmanian roads for the year.
A further 222 crashes were deemed serious and 474 required first aid to be administered.
Of the remainder, 5040 resulted in property damage only while 1038 were classified by authorities as minor.
Road safety has again been in the headlines again in recent weeks with multiple fatal crashes occurring across the state.
The state’s 2020 road toll climbed to 27 last week — six more than for the same time 12 months ago.
