A CLAREMONT man who has pleaded not guilty to murdering North Hobart shop keeper Voula Delios two years ago is expected to face trial in September.

Daryl Royston Wayne Cook, 36, appeared in the Supreme Court in Hobart via video link from Risdon Prison today.

Prosecutor Jackie Hartnett said one of the witnesses expected to give evidence had been unwell, which had delayed the case.

Justice Stephen Estcourt remanded Mr Cook in custody to reappear on September 3, when it is expected a trial date will be set.

Mr Cook is accused of stabbing Mrs Delios, 68, to death during an armed robbery at her Elizabeth St grocery store on July 23, 2016.
