FAMILY and friends of little Ned Isham are celebrating the generosity of a donor who has offered to fund his potentially lifesaving medical treatment in the US.
As reported by the Mercury, the family of six from Kingston has suffered through five-year-old Ned’s battle with cancer for nearly four years.
Ned’s hope rests in treatment thousands of kilometres and hundreds of thousands of dollars away in the US state of Washington.

A fundraising campaign was launched this week to try to raise the more than half a million dollars needed for the treatment.
With more than $80,000 donated by nearly 650 contributors, an anonymous donor has now offered to fund the remainder.
The family has announced on the GoFundMe website that the outpouring of support and generosity has been amazing.
“We are so overjoyed to announce that due to a very generous offer from a private donor, the medical side of Ned’s treatment costs will be covered,” the statement says.

As a result, the fundraising campaign has been paused for the remainder of the Easter long weekend while the details are finalised.
“The past 48 hours have demonstrated the astounding amount of love for Ned. Thank you for every dollar, every prayer and every encouraging word,” they said.
