HOBART City Council has sent a clear message to developer Fragrance Group by rejecting its second hotel within two months.

It’s 0-2 for the Singapore-based developer after its second hotel project was voted down.

Aldermen and councillors voted 10-1 supporting the planning committee recommendation to refuse the application due to its 55-metre height, the hotel’s domination of other buildings in the area and a failure to complement the character of Sullivans Cove.
