ANYONE who knows cricket knows George Bailey is a master blaster with the bat.

Turns out he’s a whiz with the tennis racket too — just ask Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard.

The 23-year-old Canadian had a hit with the Hurricanes captain at the Hobart International tennis tournament at the Domain Tennis Centre yesterday.

She was surprised by what she saw — a clean, hard left-handed forehand and potent backhand from the former Test player and ODI and T20 skipper.

“He’s good,” Bouchard said.

“I was told this would be an easy hit, and he plays great. I was starting to sweat. He said he used to play and I could tell. He’s a good leftie. It was pretty impressive.”

But “Genie” knew little about cricket.

“I know it’s huge here and in some parts of the world.”

Bailey gave Bouchard a Hurricanes shirt and let her test drive his bat.

“I love my tennis. It’s one of the things I’m looking forward to getting back into once cricket finishes,” he said.
