PRODUCERS from a renowned Tasmanian food and beverage region can now apply for stallholder spots at a popular festival set to return early in 2021.

Live music from The Wolfe Brothers, The Blues Brothers, Hugo Bladel, Gabriele Dagrezio and his band will complement the array of meals, ciders and produce on offer at A Taste of the Huon Festival which will go ahead in March next year.

President Rosemary Bennett said it felt “unbelievable” to be pressing on despite a whirlwind year which has seen regional producers struggle.

She said COVID-19 even harmed numbers at this year’s event in March as fears the virus would soon arrive in Tasmania ran rampant.

“We’re remaining positive, we’ve just sent out emails to say stallholder applications are available online,” she said.

Ms Bennett said the unique and high quality experience appealed to many Hobartians and Tasmanians.

“It’s a lovely drive down, it’s only a 30 minute drive from Hobart,” she said.

“People heading to the Taste are passing by apple and cherry orchards, seeing where apple juices, vineyards and cherry ciders are produced.

“I think over the years we’ve certainly shown the patrons just about everything is sourced from the Huon Valley or Channel region.”

Tickets will likely go on sale in January, with Ms Bennett hoping most people book their spots online rather than relying on sales at the gates of the COVID-friendly two-day event.

A Taste of the Huon will run 10am-5pm on Sunday March 7 and 10am-4pm on Monday March 8.
