Mr Clark’s stop for an ice cream with his Shire horses, Sparky and Max, who lined up behind cars, was just a normal day out for the Wayatinah resident.

It was not the first time he and his horses had passed through the fast-food lane.

“People often say how good it is seeing us trot through — everybody waves and says hi,” he said.

“The feedback is really positive and many onlookers say how it’s not something they see every day.

“I don’t think anyone saw me enter the Drive-Thru on my first visit, but on the way out there were around a dozen people standing there taking photos.”

A McDonald’s New Norfolk shift manager said staff and customers loved seeing Mr Clark and his horses pass through the lane.

“Everyone loves seeing them come by,” the manager said. “We’ve never had anyone express concerns about it and I don’t think we’re ever going to turn them away.”

Mr Clark said Max and Sparky were not usually lucky enough to score a taste of his order, but after a long ride during Thursday’s warm weather, the pair earned a lick from the soft serve cone.
