HOBART’S big weekend of events has been intermittently interrupted today by on and off showers for much of the late morning and early afternoon.

The Hobart International tennis finals, the Cygnet Folk Festival, the TasPride parade, the Salamanca Market and local sporting matches have been hampered by inconsistent weather.

Hobart has received almost 10mm of rain since 9am, while Campania in the Coal River Valley has received 15.4mm.

A road weather alert for the Central North, North East, Midlands, East Coast and South East forecast districts was issued at 2.30pm today.

Reduced visibility in rain may make road conditions dangerous during the afternoon, the Bureau of Meteorology said.

There will be a medium chance of rain again tomorrow in the late afternoon and evening, with a maximum temperature of 21C predicted.
