A HOBART woman who lost her home and all her belongings in a tragic house fire is asking the public to keep an eye out for one of her most treasured possessions that two weeks later is still yet to be found- her beloved dog Max.
Last month Glenorchy woman Lynne Felmingham’s life was turned upside down when her Glenorchy home and everything she owned was burnt to ashes in a devastating house fire.
Along with all of her clothes, furniture, and sentimental belongings, Ms Felmingham also lost her car, her two pet parrots, and her electric wheelchair that she relies on to get around.
Over two weeks have passed since the fire and one treasured belonging that is still unaccounted for is Ms Felmingham’s beloved 10-year-old Shih tzu Max.
“It’s been an extremely tough time for me and now I just want to get my darling little dog Max back,” Ms Felmingham said.
“Thankfully on the night of the fire my other dog Jimmi was found but Max is yet to turn up and its breaking my heart and Jimmi’s heart at the moment.
“After the fire I kept telling myself that maybe id shut the door on Max and left him in the burning house but I spoke to the firemen and no remains of a dog were found so I know he's out there somewhere,” she said.
The grieving Glenorchy woman said her two dogs had grown up together and it had been a struggle seeing her beloved pets apart.
‘Jimmi hasn’t know a life without Max and it’s so sad that it’s breaking my heart.
“Hes really sad and looking around everywhere for his little friend and that makes me cry even more, it’s awful,” she said.
Ms Felmingham said her missing companion helped her during a low point in her life and pleaded with anyone who knows of Max’s whereabouts to contact the Montrose Veterinary Centre.
“He means the world to me. He was my angel. He turned up in my life when I was at my lowest point and don’t think I’d be here today if it wasn’t for him.”
If you locate Max or know any information on his whereabouts please contact Montrose Veterinary Centre on 6272 3599.
