JAYDEN Appleby says his audition on Australia’s Got Talent was “one of the scariest things” he’s ever done.

The 18-year-old emerging singer/rapper admitted to being a bundle of nerves when he performed in the heats of the popular entertainment show in Sydney in July, but said the experience had the potential to be life-changing.

“I knew it was going to be scary, getting out in front of all those people, but I also knew that if I did it, then better things could come out of it,” the former Hobart College student said.

“I hadn’t done anything like this before, so it was daunting, one of the scariest things I have ever done actually.

“But I just felt, I’d love to see how far I could take this. And if the right person sees it on TV on Monday night, then it might open some doors and provide some new opportunities for me, who knows?”

With his aunt and girlfriend backstage for support, Mr Appleby performed a cover of Kodaline’s All I Want, adding his own style to the 2013 hit.

His performance will be seen in Tasmania on the Seven Network on Monday night.

“It’s a meaningful song to me ... a song where a lot of the lyrics meant so many things to me and touched on things I have gone through,” he said.

Mr Appleby is one of two Hobart performers appearing on Australia’s Got Talent this week.

Stunt cyclist Borys Zagrocki, 32, thrilled the audience with his skills during an audition in Melbourne in late May.

His performance will also be seen in Tasmania on Monday night.

Originally from Poland, Mr Zagrocki moved to Australia 10 years ago and now calls West Hobart home.

The 32-year-old has been a professional mountain and trials biker, performer and instructor for more than 15 years and, through his extreme bicycle stunts business, he has entertained throughout Tasmania, Australia and internationally.

“It was not new to me to be performing for a crowd, but in saying that, every performance I do is still very exciting and you just never know what can happen ... there is always a danger” he said.

“There were definitely some nerves out there, and the adrenaline was pumping.”

Mr Zagrocki’s act involves impressive balancing feats and negotiating a series of obstacles on a mountain bike and a trail bike.
