FORMER Tasmanian premier Lara Giddings’ long-held dream to become a mother has been realised.
Ms Giddings gave birth to a daughter, Natasha Rose Magill, at 12.36pm on Friday.
Natasha weighed in at 2.77kg.
A statement from the Labor Party said: “Lara, Natasha and Lara’s partner Ian Magill are in good health and doing well.”
“Everyone in the Labor Party is delighted for Lara and Ian and wish them and Natasha all the best.”
On Sunday, Ms Giddings shared a picture on Facebook of herself and Mr Magill with their new daughter.
Ms Giddings, 45, conceived using an egg donor last year after fearing she would not be able to have children.
She was the state’s first female premier, serving from 2011-14.
