Friends of a young Tasmanian man killed in a motorbike crash on the Brooker highway last week have remembered him as a loving man with a passion for motorbikes.

“As we all know Josh had a major love for his motorbikes and riding, but nowhere near how much love he gave to his family and his friends he considered his family,” friend and crowd funder Jordan Robertson wrote on Go Fund Me.

Others took to social media to farewell their mate.

“I’m going to miss you Joshua Tyrrell. Thanks for always being such a great friend. Rest peacefully,” wrote Teegan Meredith.

“I’ll save my words and prayers for you and I to share where you are laid to rest – Fly high brother and take care,” Lach Goss wrote.

28-year-old Joshua Tyrrell was killed on Thursday afternoon after he crashed on the Brooker Highway at Montrose on a Yamaha.

It’s understood he mounted a grass verge, crossed a slip lane, slid down an embankment, and struck a tree.

The force of the impact sent branches a branch hurtling roughly 30 metres away, according to reports from the scene.

Another friend Bella Shaw took to social media to announce her and other friends of Josh were launching a raffle.

“With the permission of Josh’s family, we’re organising a raffle and all money raised will be passed on to go towards a plaque for Josh,” she wrote.

“What we’re needing is prize donations.

“If you’re a business or someone who would like to donate a service or even a gift card please message me.”

A Go Fund Me has been started to prepare Josh’s immediate family with the challenges ahead.

Mr Robertson wrote the funds, currently at $3,450, would go towards the young man’s funeral.

Last week, Tasmanian Police said early assessments of the scene suggested speed was a direct contributing factor to the fatal crash.
