Fire investigators to determine cause of house fires at Gagebrook and Brighton

UPDATED: The cause of a fire that destroyed a unit in southern Tasmania last night has been determined.
The fire in Sattler St, Gagebrook, which resulted in $250,000 in damage, was caused by an electrical fault in a television, the Tasmania Fire Service said in a statement.
The residents were home at the time and were able to evacuate.
The cause of a fire that damaged a house at Briggs Rd, Brighton is still being determined, but TFS said there was no indication the fire was deliberate.
EARLIER: FIRE has ripped through two houses in southern Tasmania last night.
Tasmania Fire Service crews were called to a blaze at a unit in Sattler St, Gagebrook just before 7.30pm last night, a statement said.
Firefighters were then called to another house fire in Briggs Rd, Brighton at 7.30pm.
One conjoined unit was destroyed at Gagebrook, with firefighters able to stop fire spreading to the other unit, while the house at Brighton suffered damage to one room and its exterior side.
Fire investigators are expected to arrive on scene this morning to try and determine the cause of each blaze.
“No one was injured in either incident,” the fire service said.
Further details are expected one investigators arrive at the scenes today.
