Tens of Tasmanian drivers have been caught drug driving after a festival last weekend.
Twenty-seven drivers were detected with drugs in their system and one driver exceeded the 0.05 blood alcohol limit following several vehicle intercepts at Ouse on Sunday.
The tests were conducted during and after the music event on Saturday August 8.
Tasmania Police Inspector Philippa Burk said the shocking drug driving results were “very disappointing”.
“We urge Tasmanians to take road safety seriously,” Inspector Burk said.
“Road safety is a shared responsibility and it is irresponsible to drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
“Tasmania Police would again like to take this opportunity to remind the public of the fatal five, namely drink/drug driving, fatigue, speeding, inattention and failure to wear a seat belt or a helmet.”
