Elderly lady killed in ATV crash in Tasmania’s south

A elder lady has died after an ATV rolled onto her in the state’s south this afternoon.

An elder lady has died after an ATV she was riding rolled onto her in the state’s south this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Scenic Hill Road, near Huonville about 12:30pm after an ATV the 82-year-old woman was driving rolled, and trapped her underneath.

She died at the scene despite receiving medical assistance.

Tasmania Police believe a car in the area at the time may be able to help with the investigation.

“Police would like to hear from the occupants of a white Toyota 4WD (believed to be a Landcruiser or Prado) which was on Scenic Hill Road at the time, who may have witnessed the crash,” a Tasmania Police statement said.

“Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and loved ones.”

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
