Driver Reviver: Campbell Town cafe’s heartwarming offer to East Coast residents

A cafe connecting East Coast towns to Hobart during the Tasman Highway closure is offering a heartwarming reviver for drivers forced to commute the longer route to the city. OFFER >>

Tasman Highway closed from Buckland to Orford April 2020

Following the sudden closure of the Tasman Highway, the team at Zeps Cafe at Campbell Town came together to brainstorm a way to make the drive to Hobart for East Coast residents a little less painful.

Exclusively available to locals of Orford, Triabunna and Swansea the ‘East Coast Driver Reviver’ allows residents to grab a free regular coffee and choice of either a takeaway soup or a savoury/sweet cabinet item free of charge.

“Rather than driving six hours straight (return) residents can come on down to the cafe and have a refresher and bite to eat.” said manager Chris Rigby.

Mr Rigby said he felt for the residents impacted by the road closure and wanted to offer something to help break up the ‘exhausting’ drive.

“There’s a mental aspect to it as well. Being cut off from what you do daily is pretty big and then doing a six-hour drive on top of that is a big ask. And not everybody can drive the Weilangta Road.”

To make the most of the reviver all residents need to do is show the offer on their phones and proof of their address upon order.
