HYDRO Tasmania workers have been urged not to talk about the salaries of their senior executives when they are revealed in the company’s annual report on Thursday.

In an email to staff, acting CEO Ian Brooksbank said the salaries and exit payments paid to top Hydro executives were likely make headlines, but he’d rather staff didn’t make it a topic of discussion.

“There is likely to be a large amount of publicity around our Board and executive salaries, and this year the executive redundancy payouts under the restructure,” he wrote.

“I encourage you not to speculate about this amongst yourselves …”

The government-owned business’ annual report will reveal a $217m annual profit, 20 per cent above the $180m target when it is tabled in state Parliament on Thursday.
