THE premiere of a new film is being used as a rallying point for volunteers to protect Tasmania’s native forests.
On Sunday, a documentary of the Bob Brown Foundation’s past 12 months of action called Forest Defenders: The Fight for Tasmania’s Native Forests will be shown for the first time.
Bob Brown Foundation campaign manager Jenny Weber hopes the film will inspire more volunteers to support the upcoming summer of forest protests.
“At the Bob Brown Foundation, we are preparing to get back into takayna/Tarkine to blockage threatened rainforests,” she said. “We will also be rolling out a summer of frontline action across Tasmania’s native forests.
“Now we have the perfect recruitment tool to inspire citizens to join our action-oriented organisation.”
She said they were committed to defending and protecting native forests with non-violent direct intervention.
The film premiere will take place on Zoom from 5.30pm. More information at Bob Brown Foundation website.
