New designs have been revealed for the redevelopment of Cosgrove High School, but the date construction is expected to commence has been pushed back.
A development application for the project, lodged by the Department of Education, has been publicly advertised with the Glenorchy City Council.
Detailed plans included in the application show part of the existing building would be demolished to make way for a new three story structure, joining onto an existing building.
One level one of the new building would be an amphitheatre, student services and the reception.
The plans for level two shows offices, a staff hub, a cultural centre, the cafe and student hub, a drama space and a catering kitchen.
Designs for level three show learning spaces, a collaborative space, prayer room and music room.
The upgrade of the Northern suburbs school was announced in 2018.
In January this year, the Department of Education said construction on the redevelopment was expected to commence in 2023, with completion set for 2025.
But the education department’s website now shows construction is expected to commence in 2024.
The State Government has budgeted $20m for the redevelopment.
The full application is available to be viewed on the Glenorchy City Council website until August 29.
Members of the public can make submissions and provide comment until that date.
