‘Classically trained’ Hamish Blake joins Moonah dance studio’s rehearsal online

A “classically trained” Australian television and radio comedian has joined a local dance studio for their “best rehearsal ever”.

Television and radio comic Hamish Blake has joined a Moonah dance class for their online Zoom rehearsal, much to their delight.

AN Australian television and radio comedian has joined a local dance studio for their “best rehearsal ever”.

Hamish Blake joined Cosmic Dance’s senior ballet class for their Zoom rehearsal on Tuesday night, much to the dancers' delight.

Blake, who claims he is “classically trained”, joined six students in full leotard, complete with pink ankle warmers.

“Let me give you a bit of background on me as a dancer: I am classically trained, I now dance on the streets,” Blake claims.

“Your leotard is a bit too short at the front,” one student advises shortly after Blake joins the class.

Blake busts into the worm after warming up with what appears to be yoga stretches.

“I was banned by the Russian Federation of Ballet, the RFOB, and those guys are sons of b***** and I don’t care if they hear this,” he says.

“Now I just dance for me. And I dance independently.

“It’s been an absolute honour joining you ladies.”

“I love you,” one student gushes during the video.

“I dance in the grocery store and my mum goes mad at me ... I nearly kicked this old lady,” another student tells him.

“Never, ever, ever let anyone stop you dancing, you dance your way, that’s what I’m here to share with you guys tonight,” Blake says.

Commenters on the dance studio’s Facebook page were in stitches with the celeb’s appearance.

“So cool! How funny!!” said Kate Turner.

“OMG the odds of that!!” wrote Olivia Grant.

Blake has been dropping in on Zoom meetings for several days now and is taking requests.

He also jumped in an a staff meeting at a Tasmanian primary school to express his concerns over what the school was “going to do about Year 5”.
