A HUONVILLE man has died following a two-car crash at Grove.

Police said the 88-year-old driver of a Toyota Yaris died while being transported to hospital following the Huon Highway collision, about 1.30pm on Friday.

The 76-year-old female passenger in the vehicle was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital with minor injuries, police said.

All four occupants of the second vehicle, a black Volkswagen, were uninjured in the collision, a police spokesman said.

“Speed or the use of alcohol or drugs are not suspected as being contributing factors in the collision,” Acting Sergeant Adam Hall said.

The Huon Highway was closed for about 45 minutes while Police Forensic and Crash Investigation Services personnel investigated the scene.
