A teenage girl allegedly invovled in a spate of assaults in the state’s north in which one man was taken to hospital has been slapped with charges.

A 16-year-old girl was charged with common assault, stealing and burglary over the alleged incidents, which happened at Kings Meadows on August 23.

It follows after a 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with offences including assault.

Tasmania Police say at least three people were injured during the multiple alleged disturbances on Hobart Rd on that day.

Police were initially called to a carpark at about 5pm to reports that six youths were assaulting a young man – in what they believe was a targeted incident.

A man who tried to intervene was then allegedly assaulted by three youths in the group.

The man was then assaulted a second time when he tried to stop the group from assaulting a second man in a separate disturbance.

He was treated at the scene and taken to Launceston General Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The 16-year-old girl was bailed to appear in the youth justice court on October 5.

Tasmania Police again called for the first and third victim to come forward to speak to officers about the incidents.

Teen accused of assault on good Samaritan who tried to stop fight

A teenager who allegedly ganged up and assaulted a young man before going on to assault a good Samaritan who tried to intervene has been hit with multiple charges.

The 16-year-old, whose gender was not specified, was charged after three alleged assaults in Kings Meadows.

Tasmania Police say they were called to a carpark on Hobart Rd at about 5pm on Wednesday, August 23 to reports six youths were assaulting a young man.

A witness who tried to help was also allegedly assaulted by three of the youths.

The witness was then allegedly assaulted a second time when he tried to once again lend help after the same group of youths unleashed another, separate, assault.

Tasmania Police in a statement say the witness was treated at the scene by paramedics before they were taken to Launceston General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“Police believe the initial assault was a targeted incident involving people known to each other,” Tasmania Police said.

The 16-year-old was arrested on Sunday afternoon and charged with counts of stealing, injure property, common assault, computer related fraud, and burglary.

They were detained to appear in Launceston Magistrates Court’s Youth Justice division later today.

Police have called out for the first and third victim to come forward to speak with officers about the incident.

They would also like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the August 23 incident.
