Tails of the World puts Darwin dogs in coffee table books for charity

A global pet photography initiative will include Darwin dogs in coffee table books to raise money for charity. Here’s how your dog could get involved.

Puppy Tales photographer Kerry Martin has joined the Tails of the World team, a collective of professional pet photographers united in a mission to celebrate the dogs of their region and make a difference for animals in need with photographic coffee table books. She will take photos of dogs in Darwin from July 10-19.

The search for Darwin’s next top (dog) model is on, with pooches set to pose for a cause.

A collective of pet photographers – known as Tails of the World – across the globe are compiling pictures of pups to feature in coffee table books and raise money for charity.

In Australia, Puppy Tales photographer Kerry Martin will traverse Darwin and Batchelor to host photography sessions with Top End dogs from July 10-19.

The limited sessions cost $100 each and the money – as well as five per cent of the wall art sales – will be donated to two charities: Vets Beyond Borders and Animal Management in Rural and Remote Indigenous Communities.

“I’m su-paw excited to be using my photography to make a difference to animals in need,” Ms Martin said.

“I also adore that I get to showcase some of the most beautiful areas in Australia with the dogs I photograph for the project.

“I have chosen to support VBB and AMRRIC because they provide notable services to animals in the areas that I’ll be covering with the project.

“It’s important to me to support local for a project that is locally based.”

Ms Martin will also take photos of dogs in Broome, Cairns, and the Atherton Tablelands.
