A woman has been killed in a vicious dog attack at Whyalla on the state’s Eyre Peninsula.

A woman has been killed in a vicious dog attack at Whyalla Stuart.

Emergency services were called to the area around Quirke Ave, Murphy Cres and Dunsford St just after 4pm.

Paramedics attended the scene but the woman could not be saved. Police are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack, including whether the woman was set upon by her own dog.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
