Police are searching for a man after a woman was assaulted late on Tuesday night, while she was walking home in a popular beachside suburb.
Between 10.30pm and midnight on Tuesday, police allege that a woman was walking in Gregory Lane, Brighton, when she was approached by an unknown man from behind and assaulted.
The woman sustained bruising as a result of the incident, before the man then left on foot.
The man is described as having a fair complexion, heavy build, with light coloured spiked hair.
He was wearing a baseball style cap with grey peak.
Police are seeking any information from members of the public that may have been in the area of Gregory Ln, including Brighton Rd and Sturt Rd, around the time of the incident.
Police are also calling for people who may have seen any suspicious activity and, or, have dashcam vision late on Tuesday night, or early on Wednesday morning in the area.
Southern District CIB are now investigating the alleged assault.
It follows other attacks on women in the past six months. In the early hours of Sunday, December 1, Adelaide DJ, Tobi Carelle was allegedly attacked by a random stranger as she was walking down Morphett St in the CBD.
She said she was walking south when a man ran up behind her and assaulted her, causing her to fall to the ground.
The suspect then fled west along Halls Place.
He is described as being caucasian with a dishevelled appearance, about 175cm tall, slim build, aged in his 20-30s with sandy blond short hair and no facial hair.
He was wearing a dark-coloured baggy T-shirt and long pants.
Police are still investigating the incident and the attacker remains at large.
More recently, a woman was allegedly assaulted while out on a morning jog at an inner-west suburb.
The incident happened on March 28, at 8:10am, when the woman was jogging along a footpath that runs parallel to the train line near Coglin St at Brompton.
It is alleged that the woman ran past a man – who was walking in the same direction – and was assaulted soon after by the same man.
She managed to break free and escaped uninjured.
The man is described as of caucasian appearance, aged in his late 40s to early 50s, 178cm tall with a medium build, a beard and short-straggly black and grey hair.
Police are still searching for the suspect, and have also released a computer generated image of what he may look like.
Police have not said that these incidents are related.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
