‘The world is a little darker without them’: Tributes for SA woman and her daughter feared dead after horror bus crash

A local football community is “shocked and saddened” by the death of an SA woman and her daughter in the horror bus crash in NSW – and the daughter’s boyfriend.

Tributes have been posted to social media for South Australian woman Nadene McBride and her daughter Kyah, who are believed to be among those killed in a horror bus crash that claimed the lives of 10 people in New South Wales.

Messages have been posted on Facebook for the women after the crash in the Hunter Valley, which left dozens of other passengers injured after a wedding on Sunday.

The Sydney Women’s AFL Masters honoured the women after the crash, which has “shocked and saddened” the football community.

“Our women’s masters football community is shocked and saddened by the tragic news that Nadene (Nads) McBride and her daughter Kyah have now been named as having passed away,” the post, written by Steph and Trace of the football league, read.

“Our thoughts and sympathy extend to all the friends, families and teammates of Nads and Kyah and the Singleton football community. Please reach out to each other for support.”

Others commented on the post, sharing their shock at the tragic incident.

“Two wonderful ladies taken too soon,” Leanne Lister wrote. “You both gave so much.”

According to social media, Mrs McBride grew up in Leigh Creek in SA’s far north and attended Leigh Creek Area School.

Mrs McBride’s husband Graham is among the injured passengers and remains in hospital with neck injuries.

Kyah’s boyfriend Kane Symons also died in the crash – a Hobart surf lifesaving club released a statement on behalf of Mr Symons’ family.

“We are heartbroken to hear of the tragic passing of Kane Symons in the Hunter Valley bus tragedy,” Carlton Park SLSC president Christine Gaby said in a Facebook post.

According to social media, Mr McBride also attended Leigh Creek Area School.

Mrs McBride was an avid Adelaide Crows supporter, according to her social media.
