An icon of Adelaide’s backstreets, the popular Original Pancake Kitchen will soon be pouring syrup north of town with an “exciting” new expansion on the horizon.
First started in 1965, the eatery with 24-hour weekend service has been a long standing stalwart for South Australian sweet tooths – and visitors too – and will soon be adding a Golden Grove store to its institution.
The Original Pancake Kitchen announced in January its new owners Lauren Bent and partner/7News reporter Mitchell Sariovski would take over the business as owners.
Residents in Port Adelaide and Marion have already been enjoying sweet and savoury treats thanks to recent restaurant openings, but the newly announced closure of Rami and Lisa’s Café Settebello in Golden Grove will soon reopen as a Pancake Kitchen with the duo still at the helm.
Rami and Lisa expanded their popular Cafe Settebello brand to Golden Grove at the end of 2024 with “exciting” plans to transform it into a Pancake Kitchen.
“Residents in the north have been calling for a Pancake Kitchen, and Lisa and I can’t wait to bring the brand to Golden Grove,” Rami said.
“Everyone in South Australia knows The Original Pancake Kitchen and has a story from when they were a child.
“The Original Pancake Kitchen offers families affordability — and we want to help locals with the rising cost of living.”
Cafe Settebello Golden Grove will be replaced by The Original Pancake Kitchen, which will open in the location in August.
