A teenager has been taken to hospital after he crashed his motorbike at a speedway track.
Emergencies services were called to Gillman Speedway Stadium – a motorcycle racing venue – after receiving reports of a crash on Friday about 9.30pm.
A teenage boy, aged approximately 16 years old, was initially thought to have suffered spinal injuries from a motorcycle crash, according to an SA Ambulance spokeswoman.
He was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he spent the night.
However, SA Health has confirmed the boy is in a stable condition and has minimal injuries.
The incident comes after Troy Knights, 42, died following a crash on the racetrack when competing in the flat track championship in November of last year.
Mr Knight collided with the motorcycle in front of him and died in hospital the next day.
Rob and Tina Knights remembered their son as a gentle giant that would give anything to anybody to help, he was outgoing, bubbly, and simply put – had a heart of gold.
