A woman charged with inflicting ‘sexual servitude’on a disabled person over multiple years will face a criminal trial.
In the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning, Stella Whitelaw denied she forced a disabled woman into “sexual servitude” for more than three years.
In court documents, SA Police allege Ms Whitelaw, 52, of Edwardstown, inflicted sexual servitude upon a woman – whose identity is automatically suppressed under SA law.
They allege that, between January 2021 and February 2024 at Edwardstown, she “compelled” the woman “to perform or continue to perform commercial sexual acts”.
The offence carries a maximum penalty of 15 years’ jail.
On Wednesday, magistrate Simon Smart adjourned the matter until July, where Ms Whitelaw is expected to face the District Court for trial date to be set.
She declined to comment outside court.
