Serious crash between cyclist and truck on Halifax Street in Adelaide’s CBD
Witnesses to a horror crash between an e-bike rider and a truck have spoken about the incident which left the cyclist in a serious condition.

An e-bike has reportedly collided with a truck tray on Halifax St about midday on Thursday, leaving a man fighting for his life in Royal Adelaide Hospital.
At about 12pm on Thursday, police and emergency services were called to Halifax St in the city’s south, with reports of a crash between an e-bike rider and truck.
Multiple witnesses reported the aftermath of the collision to The Advertiser, claiming the male rider collided with a stationary truck’s loading tray near the corner of Halifax St and Surflen St.
The high-visibility clad rider is believed to be a delivery rider.
Local resident Zoe Townsend said when she got to the scene she saw the cyclist on the ground.
“There was a river of blood coming out and he had a big gash on his neck, ” she said.
Ms Townsend said she “felt sick” after seeing the aftermath.
Police said the truck driver was assisting them with enquiries and the investigation was ongoing.
No charges have been laid.
An SA Ambulance spokeswoman confirmed a patient had been transported to Royal Adelaide Hospital following the collision.
Road closures were put in place but they have since reopened.
Police have asked anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage of the incident to call police assistance on 131 444.
