Adelaide’s dry spell looks set to be broken – we can expect showers this weekend, head of heavy rain and up to 20mm next week.
After a warmer morning – where the overnight temperature dropped to a low of 12.1C – Friday is expected to stay dry.
There is a slight chance of a shower about the hills and southern suburbs early but a near zero chance of rain elsewhere and a top of 19C.
However, Bureau of Meteorology’s Simon Timcke told FIVEAA radio there was a high chance of showers increasing during the late morning for Saturday. with showers forecast for Sunday too.
“Tomorrow (Saturday) … we’ve got a trough moving across, and that’ll bring a couple of showers, I think probably from late morning onwards, and early afternoon, might be a little bit of an easing a little bit later in the day, but we’re likely to see at least one or two showers around.,” he said.
“Sunday, still a chance of one or two showers, but probably less likely than Saturday.
He said there from Monday, a front would approach from the West overnight, bringing showers through Tuesday and continuing through Wednesday.
“(We are) likely to see a couple of fronts or troughs move across through the middle part of next week, giving us some showery days and some windy days at times too,” he said.
“So it’ll feel like a real return to winter through the middle part of next week ... and conditions getting a bit cooler too with maximum temperatures only around 14 or 15 degrees.”
Adelaide is forecast for up to 20mm on both Tuesday and Wednesday, with showers easing on Thursday and up to 7mm expected.
