Red Rooster lodged plans to open new store in Blair Athol

A fast food restaurant chain is set to open its fourth Adelaide store, this time in the northern suburbs.

A new Red Rooster restaurant is due to open in Adelaide’s northern suburbs – bringing the chain’s total number of Adelaide stores up to four.

Planning documents lodged with Plan SA suggest the fast food store would be located on Main North Rd on a 1800 sqm area of land beside a Revo Fitness outlet.

“The building is single-storey and has a floor area of 1800 sqm, comprising the follow: dining area with approximately 22 seats, staff office, counter and point of sale, drive-through servery, kitchen …, amenities and bin room,” they read.

The documents state the establishment will be open 24 hours, seven days a week.

There will be a variety of advertisements decorating the building including those with lights.

“A variety of corporate advertisements are proposed to the elevations of the building, including both illuminated and non-illuminated elements, comprising the tenant’s logo, name and various other graphics,” it reads.

“The building is designed with high architectural merit, with articulation and a mix of external materials and finishes to reduce the visual bulk and scale.”

The plans state the restaurant will be single-storey and will have a car park on site. They predict a “minimal increase” in traffic on Main North Rd.

A variety of plants will surround the car park and building including small trees, feature shrubs and small trees.

Red Roosters’ current Adelaide stores are located at Castle Plaza, Arndale and Munno Para.

The plans are open for public consultation until July 19.
