Police have launched an investigation into a suspicious fire at a shop on Unley Rd – and are probing any links to Adelaide’s tobacco wars.

Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a shop in Unley this morning, as they probe any links to the state’s illicit tobacco wars.

Emergency services were called to Unley Rd after receiving reports of a fire at a business premises about 1.30am on Saturday.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze inside the unoccupied shop.

The damaged shop, called the Royal Smoke Tobacconist, was observed by The Advertiser to have had its window smashed and the insides severely burned.

Crime Scene Investigators will be conducting their investigations throughout Saturday morning.
