Baby Raphael joined the state’s Liberal Party ranks this week, with proud father and Leader of the Opposition Vincent Tarzia saying he’s “filled our hearts with pride and joy”.
“We are extremely grateful for the incredible care we’ve received from the doctors and midwives who’ve looked after us,” Mr Tarzia said of the staff at the Adelaide hospital where he was born on Wednesday.
Mr Tarzia and his wife Charissa also have another three-year-old son Leonardo.
“Baby Raphael has already filled our hearts with pride and joy,” Mr Tarzia said.
“Charissa has been incredible and mum and bub are doing really well.
“Leonardo has taken to being a big brother and we are really enjoying this special time as a family.”
It is the second new baby to join the state Liberal party family after upper house member Laura Henderson and her husband Cameron welcomed baby Oliver to the world on May 20.
Shadow police and correctional services spokesman Jack Batty and his wife Charlotte Thomas are also looking forward to having their first child arrive in August.
Mrs Tarzia, a Flinders University law lecturer, has previously said the couple discovered the gender of their new baby early but kept it as a surprise for their family and friends.
“We are so thankful that our family has grown and so has the love that fills our home,” Mr Tarzia said.
