Opposition health spokeswoman Ashton Hurn welcomes her baby Rupert Francis Hurn Howard

The Liberal MP took to Facebook to reveal the new addition to her family just days after a Labor colleague shared similar news.

Liberal MP Ashton Hurn has announced the birth of a precious baby boy.

The opposition health spokeswoman took to Facebook to share her – and her husband’s Adam Howard – news on Thursday.

“Adam and I are delighted to welcome a healthy baby boy, Rupert Francis Hurn Howard, to the world!” Ms Hurn wrote.

“Our hearts are full of love for him, a beautiful new addition to our family – we couldn’t be happier.”

Friends and followers made sure to share in the joy over the birth.

Cheyenne Dunn wrote: “Congratulations Ashton and Adam! I thought you were glowing before but motherhood definitely suits your smile.

“Welcome Rupert! He is delightful xxx.”

Badcoe MP Jayne Stinson also wrote “Congratulations!!” after recently giving birth to her baby boy Quinn Edmund Stinson.

This comes after Ms Hurn and Mr Howard married in December 2021 at Ms Hurn’s family property, but kept details of their nuptials private until June 2022.

While they did not share any wedding photographs on their social media, photos revealed Ms Hurn wearing a beautiful bridal gown that was believed to be the work of Adelaide’s internationally-renowned couture house Paolo Sebastian.
