Opal Mining Town Mintabie Traditional Owners Angry 19/11/2022

TRADITIONAL Owners of the Outback opal Mining town Mintabie say they are “frustrated” and “angry” at the lack of progress made with the town since its government-forced closure nearly three years ago.

A Police officer’s comments made during a hearing for a young Aboriginal mother have been labelled “blatantly racist” and rebuked by a court.

Up to 30 percent of this year’s wine grape harvest will be left on the vine in some regions this vintage, as the industry continues to absorb the impact of China’s effective blockade of Australian exports.
