South Australia’s beloved Botanic Gardens has been named one of the best gardens in the world.
According to Insure and Go, plant and garden-loving travellers should put Adelaide’s Botanic Gardens on their bucket list after it ranked as one of the most highly rated gardens on earth.
More than 100 of the world’s most popular gardens were analysed by looking at gardens that have reviews with four stars or higher.
Adelaide ranked 15 – with Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden in Cape Town, South Africa – on list of top 20 highest rated gardens in the world.
Around the country, Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens ranked 12, while Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens ranked fourth.
Australia ranked sixth on the list of top 20 best countries for plant lovers, after scoring a 73 ‘Botanical Bliss’ score.
They searched for 46 countries that were home to at least 10 botanical gardens, then based their ranking on Instagram Hashtags, Google searches, Botanical Gardens per Square Mile and recorded Plant species.
