Naracoorte man, 57, charged after guns, drugs seized in South-East raid

A man has been charged after a cache of weapons and drugs were seized as police search a property in the state’s South-East.

Multiple firearms, ammunition, a pistol crossbow and drugs were seized after police searched a property at Avenue Range in the state’s South-East.

Police attended the property at 10.30am on Monday after an investigation led them to the property where they conducted a search.

Police searched a shipping container and found multiple firearms, ammunition, a pistol crossbow and cannabis plant.

A 57-year-old man from Naracoorte was charged with multiple firearm offences, including possessing a prescribed firearm, possessing a firearm without a licence, possessing a prohibited weapon and refusing to answer questions under the Firearms Act.

The man was arrested and bailed to appear in the Naracoorte Magistrates Court on April 2.
