Fire investigators are attending a commercial property on Goodwood Rd after a blaze broke out there earlier this evening.
The Metropolitan Fire Service received a call out at 5.46pm regarding the structural fire. Smoke was billowing from the rear of the premises
A large MFS contingency attended – 12 regular fire trucks, two specialist appliances and two command vehicles and 38 firefighters.
Firefighters worked for 45 minutes to control the blaze and two neighbouring properties were not impacted by the fire.
An MFS spokeswoman told The Advertiser firefighters were still at the commercial property, monitoring hot spots, and that fire investigators were yet to determine the cause of the blaze.
The amount of damage is also not yet known.
The busy road, which was blocked off, has reopened to traffic.
The fire comes a week after multiple restaurants on Prospect Rd at Prospect were severely damaged by fire.
In that blaze 12 MFS trucks and 45 firefighters fought flames using equipment, including an aerial appliance.
