Voters living in mainly leafy Adelaide suburbs are already federal election winners after winning multimillion-dollar promises for fixed roads, renovated clubs, parks and new medical clinics.

The two electorates most tightly held by the Liberal Party’s James Stevens in Sturt and the Labor Party’s Louise Miller-Frost in Boothby have seen a swath of promises announced during the election campaign.

Liberal Nicolle Flint has spruiked more than $95m in new funding for yacht clubs, sporting clubs, gymnastics and roadworks in her fight to win Boothby – including a joint commitment with Mr Stevens for $840m toward creating a greater Adelaide Freight bypass.

“We will invest $10m in the first step towards removing the Main Road (train) level crossings at Blackwood and Glenalta stations,” she said on Facebook.

“An elected Dutton Liberal Government will invest $20 million towards building brand new purpose-built facilities for Gymnastics SA.”

Sturt Labor candidate Claire Clutterham – who is trying to wrestle Sturt from Mr Stevens with his ultra-slim 0.5 per cent majority – said funds for a Medicare Urgent Clinic in eastern Adelaide and a Medicare Mental Health Clinic in Burnside was among her list.

“I’ve also worked hard to ensure we can continue to build thriving communities, including with commitments to upgrade sports clubs and multicultural group facilities,” she said.

“For example, last month the Prime Minister and I visited Nonna’s Cucina in Holden Hill and announced a re-elected Labor Government will invest nearly $100,000 in to ensure it can keep supplying vulnerable and elderly people with home cooked meals.”

She and Ms Miller-Frost have also spruiked the Labor government adding $525m to the last federal budget to help get trucks off Portrush Road and Cross Roads.
