Man, 81, dies in hospital after Kurralta Park crash

The 81-year-old man was taken to hospital after the horror crash on Anzac Hwy, dying on Friday morning just a day after his wife died at the scene.

An 81-year-old man has died in hospital, the second death following a serious crash at Kurralta Park on Thursday.

The Plympton man was driving a Volkswagen Golf on Anzac Hwy near Grassmere St, opposte Kmart, when the vehicle crashed into a tree just before 1pm.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition, where he died on Friday morning.

His passenger, an 80-year-old Plympton woman, died at the scene.

Major Crash investigators went to the scene, and anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage and has not yet spoken to police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au.

The deaths are the 43rd and 44th lives lost on South Australian roads in 2025.
