The former partner of CIBO Espresso and chief financial officer of Jurlique has appeared in court charged over the indecent assault of at least 12 women he allegedly lured into his Currie St business for “job interviews”.

Solomon Farah, 67, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday afternoon where the court heard he could have up to 78 victims.

A prosecutor told the court that Mr Farah was arrested on February 7 after allegedly indecently assaulting a girl who attended his business Skin Fit Co on Currie St for a job interview and trial shift.

“He rubbed lotion on her and felt up her breasts under her shirt and made comments about her breasts being bouncy with lotion,” the prosecutor said.

The prosecutor said after his arrest in February police found firearms, and a search of his phone uncovered more potential victims.

“Police have now found a potential further 78 victims, currently 12 have come forward and those are the victims on this file,” he said.

He said the charges relating to the other alleged victims were similar to those of the first alleged victim.

Documents obtained by The Advertiser state that the 12 women were allegedly indecently assaulted in various ways including some of them being massaged on various parts of their body with skin care products.

The documents allege that Mr Farah indecently assaulted three of the girls by “touching and massaging her breasts during a job interview”.

They also allege he indecently assaulted another woman by “touching and massaging her buttocks during a job interview”.

Andrew Ey, for Mr Farah, applied for bail on behalf of his client and said the further alleged victims only came forward after police contacted them.

Mr Ey said Mr Farah was married with three children and had been living in the state since 1988 after completing an accounting degree in Israel.

“In 1999 he started working as the CFO of Jurlique, he was also the CFO of CIBO and Italian coffee shops more recently,” he said.

“He’s now semi-retired, set-up the Skin Fit Co and the defence case is that all contact with the various complainants was all consensual.

“He’s extremely hard working and a man of exemplary character.”

Mr Farah was rearrested on Wednesday and charged with firearms offences and a further four indecent assault charges and 10 assault charges, some of which are aggravated counts due to him being in a position of authority.

Mr Ey’s bail application was opposed by prosecution.

Magistrate Kym Millard ordered a home detention report, with Mr Farah remanded in custody until at least next Wednesday.

Mr Farah’s Facebook page states he’s a digital creator, with LinkedIn stating he currently works at his own business Solomon Finance Financial Solutions.

Mr Farah was a partner and chief executive at CIBO Espresso for six years before leaving the company around 2011 and pursuing other career paths including joining the team at Cotto Espresso and starting his marketing company Aspire Co.

He has an accountancy background and was also the chief financial officer at Jurlique for five years.

Mr Farah was arrested at 8pm on Wednesday over the alleged offences dated between January 5, 2023 and February 2, 2024.

A search of his home revealed he was also allegedly in possession of a silencer and a bullet.

In 2023, Mr Farah posted on his Facebook stating staff were required for his start up business Skin Fit Co.

“SkinFitCo is a start up business – it’s a locally made pre, natural and affordable skincare products business and require staff who are part about skincare product and wellbeing,” the post reads.

The post states he was looking to hire sales staff who would be paid an hourly rate plus commission and help with social media, marketing and promotion on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.

Outside court, a close friend of Mr Farah’s, who offered to be his guarantor, repeatedly told media he had nothing to say.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he also said several times when questioned over Mr Farah’s alleged offending.
