Police remain tight-lipped about a major search that will be held today as part of an ongoing murder investigation.

Major Crime officers will launch an extensive search on Tuesday in connection with an ongoing murder investigation.

On Monday afternoon, police said a search would be held at a country location, but within 100km of Adelaide.

Police remained tight-lipped about the search on Monday, refusing to reveal which investigation it was linked to before a press conference on Tuesday.

Police said drones would be used during the search, but would not specify the size of the search area or how long it was expected to take.

Several major searches related to high-profile murder investigations have been held in recent months, including those for the remains of Jeffrey Mundy, Trevor King and Robert Atkins as part of Taskforce Southern, which was established to investigate the three men’s deaths.
